It is more common in permanent dentition and incidence rate is high in maxillary incisor region, followed by maxillary third molar and mandibular molar, premolar, canine, and lateral incisor. Supernumerary premolars may occur in single or multiple numbers and their prevalence rate is 0.08-0.3%. Huge percentage of supernumerary premolars remain unerupted, impacted and usually asymptomatic. Radiograph plays an important role in their diagnosis.
